For this week exercises I found that I was more knowledgeable on what to do, but still found it difficult to really find a point of concentration. Even though I had the guide in writing I would still find it difficult. For myself I am going to continue to work on the subtle min exercise to then be able to fully grasp loving kindness. Even though this time around I did experience warmth that I didn’t experience the previous times I had tried the exercise, so I can’t completely knock myself because there was some improvement.
After doing the assessment, I found that the area I feel needs the most attention at this time is psychospiritual. At this moment I am going through a lot involving my child and family dynamics have become strained due to the lack of genuine understanding. I am finding myself facing moments of extreme anxiety, conflicting emotions, and a mental chatter that peaks when the stressors come back into play. I have found that some exercise I found for unit #5 project are helpful in the sense that they relax me and let me properly make decision without them being tainted by frustration or anger. I also believe this class came at a moment in my life where I needed it the most. Though I know where and which are my weaknesses I still need time to really put all this exercises into a proper rotation so that I can benefit from them. Here is the website I visited for and found these exercises http://www.the-guided-meditation-site.com/guided-meditation-script.html . Hope you guys can find some that may help.
Maite,
ReplyDeleteI hope everything works out for you with your family. I too had a hard time with the loving kindness. My main problem was the repeating the phrases for 10 mins. I kept forgetting about them. Besides that I think it was a pretty good exercise. I loved how they had us focusing on the wellness of other people as well as ourselves. It would be a wonderful if we could focus on everyone else's well being and it would make them healthy and happiness. The world would be a much better place.

ReplyDeletefragmented or impossible, step back, close your eyes, and envision perfection where you saw brokenness. Go to the inner place where there is no problem, and abide in the consciousness of well-being." Alan Cohen
Record the guide, on your cell phone maybe, and listen to yourself talk. I used my iPad and it works great. I am not shocked by my own voice and it is like I am the voice in my head! Now seems to be the time you need this relaxation the most. Good luck.

Sorry to hear that you are having so much trouble with clearing your mind. When I had a tough time clearing my mind I would drink herbal relaxation tea and take herbal baths. Organic aids have helped me so much to not think about the chatter at all. Having an activity that kept my mind of things worked to make room for a thought to be placed in front of me by category. I would work on a different category every 3 days. This helped me to not feel over whelmed. Take small bites from the platter that is really a saucer pretending to be a plate. Break it down.
ReplyDeleteGood Luck.
